More Information
The Little Deschutes river winds a serpentine path through the silver-green pastureland of Central Oregon. Among the trailing willows by the gurgling stream time has no meaning. The deep water by the shore swirls and boils in a hypnotic rhythm. Farther downstream the surface shimmers with a thousand tiny sunbursts in continuous but ever-changing brilliance. This 4-minute piece is based on motivic repetition to achieve a hypnotic quality. Some intricate finger patterns and quick pedal changes are called for, as well as the unusual time signature of 11/16. For advanced pedal harp.
